It is important to follow a safe and effective protocol when rinsing Benz Oxy Cleanze from treated surfaces, to minimise any possible impact on surfaces not being treated but that could receive run-off.
Quick tips:
1) The information about rinsing in this article applies equally to rinsing all our softwash chemical products.
2) As always treat a small test patch of the surface you are planning to treat before giving a full treatment.
To rinse Oxy Cleanze we use our specialised soft wash rinsing nozzles that are designed for use with a pressure washer. They utilise the high flow rate of the pressure washer, giving an efficient and effective water pressure at the point of contact. They come as shooter and fan tips, as you can see in action below.

A slower alternative would be to use a garden hose fitted with a standard watering nozzle, set to jet.
Quick tips:
1) Pre-wetting: Before rinsing, always pre-wet any concrete, tarmac, or block paving – and particularly any plant life – below the area to be treated, which could potentially receive run-off. And keep the area wetted down during the treatment and rinsing processes.
Any Oxy Cleanze that reaches the ground surfaces during rinsing will be diluted enough not to do any harm.
2) Spillage: If any neat Oxy Cleanze should be accidentally spilled, immediately rinse it away with copious quantities of fresh water.
A useful and effective rinsing technique is to start rinsing at the bottom and slowly work your way up to the top. Each time you move the rinsing nozzle higher to rinse off the remaining Oxy Cleanze, you will be rinsing down onto the previously rinsed area.
Finish off with a quick general rinsing of the whole treated area from the top down.
This technique is a little slower than rinsing only from the top down but is highly effective. It's especially useful when:
This "bottom up" rinsing method is the safest and most efficient and effective way to look after any adjacent plant life and surfaces receiving the run-off. This rinsing method can also be used when rinsing with a pressure washer.
Quick tip: Always keep children and animals well away from the working area – ideally kept indoors or at another location entirely – until Oxy Cleanze has been fully rinsed and the working area made safe. And always wear appropriate PPE, especially eye and exposed skin protection.

We've noticed erroneous assumptions being made about the legal uses of sodium hypochlorite for soft washing. A lot of misunderstanding, confusion and myths have arisen from these assumptions.

Soft washing can be carried out all year round when the temperature is not freezing or near freezing. The main thing to consider is that softwash chemicals will take longer to produce their full effect in cold conditions.

It's a free resource for people wanting to learn about the soft washing industry, to expand an existing business, or build a new business.
Soft washing reduces, or even eliminates, the need to use high-pressure washing.
Instead, once the build up of algae, lichen, fungus and mould – the root causes of properties looking "dirty" – has been treated, the natural "self-cleansing" of sun, rain and wind removes the surface residue through time.
By educating the cleaning trade and public about soft washing we are helping develop an industry that offers sustainable treatments to clean and maintain exterior hard surfaces.
